50009 Zaragoza (Spain)
The history of the beautiful Aragonese capital dates back to the time of the Iberians and its foundation in the year III B.C.
Today, it is among the richest cities in Spain. It has been able to take advantage of its geostrategic position to become the gateway to Europe. Its location in the epicentre of Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia, with a market that represents 60% of GDP and has more than 25 million people, has influenced the creation of the Logistics Platform of Zaragoza, PLAZA, which has turned the city into one of the logistics references in Spain and southern Europe, for companies such as Inditex, Adidas, Decathlon, among others.
Zaragoza is one of the cities “with a great river”, a factor that always confers a very characteristic personality. The unmistakable silhouette of the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar, which is reflected in the Ebro, is the most emblematic symbol of the city and a compendium of architecture.
As a result of the 2008 Expo that took place in the Aragonese capital, the banks of the Ebro were adapted and recovered, giving the city a new image and perspective. The city is transformed during the summer with a cultural and festive program that fills the banks of the river and its old town with animation. Zaragoza is a hospitable city, where it is easy to connect with people and to integrate. It is not a priority choice for foreigners (there are less than 1,000 French established in this city) among other things because it is an inland city with a very extreme climate. But it offers many cultural and touristic attractions that make it an always surprising destination.
