On the 21st of October 2022, the José Ramón de la Morena Foundation presented the VIII Altruism Awards at the Brunete Sports Centre, which also bears the name of the beloved and famous journalist.
These awards aim to recognise and reward people or institutions that selflessly dedicate their time and effort to others in favour of values of coexistence and solidarity.
The Foundation, created in 2004, defends the positive values of sport that are so necessary for the development of children and young people through different projects and initiatives.

It has sports schools, such as the Football School, based in Brunete, and the Tennis, Padel and Gymnastics School, where more than 200 students are trained. Different events are promoted throughout the year to obtain support and aid for the most needy and disadvantaged groups, both in Spain and internationally, (schooling of Pakistani children in Hushué; football matches for children in the Sahara, orphanages in Peru with Father Ignacio, who was awarded the Altruism Award in 2014).
